Thomas D. Menold

President

Tom grew up in the Morton area.  After graduating from Morton High School, he completed a four-year bricklayer apprenticeship, spent two years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and graduated in 1976 from Southern Illinois University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts.

In 1977, he founded Tom Menold Masonry, which was incorporated in 1988 and renamed Menold Construction, Inc.  The company currently does business as Menold Construction and Restoration.  

Tom and his wife, Sheryl, have been married since 1976, and reside in East Peoria.  They enjoy golfing and travel.  Tom is a long-time member of the barbershop quartet "For Our Pleasure."

Steve grew up in the city of Chicago and attended high school at De La Salle Institute.  After graduating from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Construction Management, he joined Menold Construction & Restoration as a project manager in Januaryof 1993.  

Steve was instrumental in developing the Restoration Division at Menold Construction.  He is one of about 500 individuals in the world to hold the accreditation of Certified Restorer (CR) from the National Institute of Disaster Restoration.  This is the highest educational designation for the restoration industry, that can be attained.

As co-owner of Menold Construction & Restoration, Steve is currently in charge of business development & sales management.

Steve and his wife, Gina, were married in 1996. Steve is an avid bicyclist, competing in races throughout the Midwest.

 

 

 

Shane Cunningham

Shane grew up in the Delavan area and attended Delavan High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Economics.  After graduation, Shane worked for four years in management for a large building materials retailer in the Champaign and Chicago areas.  Shane came to Menold Construction in 2001.

As Business Manager, Shane's main responsibility is the oversight of the Accounting Department.  He also oversees the IT system, and spends time working with advertising, marketing and human resources. 

Shane was married to his wife, Lisa, in 2006 and they have two children.  He enjoys travel and outdoor sports.

 

Brad Menold

Production Manager, Construction

Brad has lived on the Menold family farm near Morton all of his life.  He attended Illinois Central College, then went into a partnership with his father, Herman, and brother Greg in the family grain and hog operation.  Brad spent two years in management at a metal fabrication shop before joining Menold Construction as the Production Manager in 2001.  

Brad oversees all facets of the production of construction work at Menold.  He maintains the proper staff of employees, subcontractors and vendors, and is responsible for quality, profitability and customer service. 

Brad and his wife, Jacquetta, have been married since 1978 and have three children.  

He enjoys travel and spending time with family. 

 

 

 

Jon Stapel

Jon grew up in central Illinois, northwest of Peoria.  Jon graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.  During college he spent his summers working in the Chicago area for one of the nation's largest homebuilders.  After college, Jon moved to the Rockford area and began to work

for a local home builder.  Jon started out as a draftsman and quickly moved into a position where he was involved with planning and managing all aspects of the construction process from start to completion.

 

Jon moved back to central Illinois in July of 2009 and began working for Menold Construction as the Production Coordinator.  He is responsible in assisting customers in the selection process for the special ordering materials needed for their homes, in addition, helps in the scheduling of jobs, provides consulting for design, obtains bids-pre and post estimate, provides problem resolution and administers training.  Jon also serves as a member of the Safety Committee.

 

Jon and his wife, Mary, have been married since 2006.  In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his family and being involved in his church.   Jon is also an avid sports fan who loves college basketball and the NFL.

   

Steve Martiens

Steve grew up in Chicago and the Western suburbs until 1976 when his family relocated to Central Illinois.  Steve then graduated from Tremont High School and attended Illinois Central College.  Professionally, Steve has been in management or staff positions for the last 18 years.  Most recently, he has spent 13 of those years in the manufacturing industry.  In November of 2006, Steve started with Menold Construction as Restoration Division Manager.  

Steve's current responsibilities include Restoration Technician training, oversight of all projects for restoration, supervision of the warehouse facilities, equipment and vehicle maintenance for Restoration.  Steve is also active at Menold as a member of their Safety Committee.

Steve and his wife, Angela, were married in 1992 and have three children. They currently live in Tremont where they are both actively involved with Youth Recreation and Park District programs.

 

Gail Soddy

Accounting Manager

Gail was born and raised in Peoria.  After graduating from Richwoods High School, she received her Accounting degree from University of Texas. 

Gail came to Menold Construction in 2000 and was soon promoted to Accounting Manager.  She currently is responsible for managing all accounting functions as well as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and human services.

She currently lives in Morton.  In her spare time, Gail enjoys spending time with her two sons and three grandchildren.

 

Peggie Schmitt

Accounts Payable, Payroll

Peggie grew up in Central Illinois and attended Morton High School. She then went to Illinois Central College and graduated from Bradley University with a B.S. in Accounting.  Peggie spent 2½ years in the corporate offices of a large equipment rental firm before she came to Menold Construction in 2003.

Peggie is responsible for all the accounts payable, purchase orders, invoices, vendor payments, weekly payroll and many other duties. 

Peggie lives in Morton.  She enjoys reading, being a Cub fan and spending time with friends and family.

 

  

Patrick Coyle

Lead Designer - Remodeling

Patrick grew up in Streamwood, northwest of Chicago.  He started his construction career when he was six years old helping his father, and progressed on through high school and college working summers at a local construction company building decks and remodeling. Patrick graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Construction Management.  After college,  Patrick and a long-time friend owned a residential remodeling business for eight years. 

Patrick was hired by Menold Construction and moved to Peoria in 2000.  After a short period as a Lead Carpenter, he quickly moved to a Design-Build Project Manager position, and today, Lead Designer. His responsibilities include designing, selling and producing remodeling projects for all of our clients.

Patrick has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1996.  When he is not at work, Patrick focuses on developing his faith, meeting the responsibilities of being a husband, helping to raise his three children, and occasionally relaxing.

 

 

Pat O'Neill

Project Manager, Restoration

Pat grew up in Peoria and graduated from Spalding Academy.  He spent four years in the U.S. Navy, where he worked on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Independence.  He attended San Diego State University.  Pat worked at UPS in shipping for a number of years before coming to work at Menold Construction and Restoration in 1996 as a painter.  In 1998, Pat volunteered to head and manage the Operations portion of Menold's new Restoration Division. After his success as Restoration Manager, Pat was promoted in 2004 to Restoration Project Manager. In this role, Pat is responsible for estimating, selling and managing fire and water restoration projects.

Pat lives in Peoria, where he enjoys spending time with friends and family, and golfing.

  

 

Miles McKelvey

Miles grew up in Morton, graduated from Morton High School, and attended Illinois Central College.  Miles spent a number of years as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a textile leasing company.  Later, he was part owner and General Manager of a commercial and residential facilities management company.

Miles came to Menold Construction and Restoration in February of 2007 as Restoration Project Manager. He is responsible for estimating, selling and managing fire and water restoration projects. He is presently the Branch Manager of our Bloomington, IL. Branch Office, responsible for all operations & management.

Miles has been married to his wife, Rhonda, since 1990. The two live in Morton and have three children.  In his free time, Miles enjoys golf, water sports and spending time with his family.

 

 

Nick Schuck

Project Manager, Restoration

Nick grew up in Morton, graduated from Morton High School, and attended Illinois Central College.  At the age of 17 Nick started working in the IT industry and over the course of thirteen years he undertook numerous roles ranging from operations manager to head of the sales department.  Nick is very active in the Morton community.  Since 2005 he has been serving as an ambassador for the Morton Chamber of Commerce.

Nick joined Menold Construction and Restoration in 2008 as Restoration Project Manager.  He is responsible for estimating, selling and managing fire and water restoration projects.

Nick and his wife, Lisa, have been happily married since 2007.  They currently live north of Morton where they have a dog named Chloe, two cats and more chickens than you can ever imagine!  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family & friends, traveling, and playing tennis.  Nick also loves and owns several classic cars.

 

 

 

Eric Henson

Project Manager, Restoration

Eric grew up in Westchester and the West Chicago suburbs until his parents were transferred to Pekin by Commonwealth Edison.  He graduated from Pekin High School and started working in construction with his uncle over summer and spring breaks.  Later, Eric learned the carpentry trade in Chicago, building homes and doing insurance repair work.  He later moved to Wisconsin and traveled around the Midwest for five years doing commercial build-outs for restaurants, stores, office spaces and buildings.

Eric moved back to the area to start working for Menold Construction in May of 2002, bringing with him nearly 20 years' experience in the construction field.  He was originally hired on as a carpenter, moved up to Lead Carpenter, and in December of 2004 was promoted to the position of Production Coordinator.  In July of 2009 Eric took the position of Restoration Project Manager for Menold Construction.  He is responsible for estimating, selling and managing fire and water restoration projects.

Eric lives in Pekin and enjoys spending his free time coaching youth sports and playing with his two children.
